Computer Laboratories

The Department is well equipped for teaching and is continually upgrading its computer laboratories to ensure all equipment is up-to-date and has the newest hardware available.

Currently there are three Computer laboratories within the department:

  • Computer Laboratory I
  • Computer Laboratory II
  • Hardware and Network Laboratory

All the computers in the laboratory are have internet access.

In addition, students have access to specialized equipment such as scanners, DVD-writers, etc. for their project work.

The laboratories contain a wide range of software including, programming languages C, Java, etc., Microsoft Office packages, World Wide Web authoring tools and databases.

Computer Laboratory 1

The main objective of the Computer Laboratory I is to provide the students with the facility of various softwares to perform the basic to advanced experiments as well as project work.

Laboratory is equipped with 25 Desktop Computers having internet facility as well as all the required softwares installed for the use by the students. The laboratory is also equipped with printers, scanner, etc.

Laboratory is utilized for conducting practical’s in the subjects such as Computer Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Computer Laboratory I and II, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Security, Introduction to Mobile App Development, E-Commerce, etc.

The Computer Lab also houses the server room with the servers installed for the use by the staff and the students.

Computer Laboratory 2

The main objective of the Computer Laboratory II is to provide the students with the facility of various softwares to perform the basic to advanced experiments as well as project work.

Laboratory is equipped with 22 Desktop Computers having internet facility as well as all the required softwares installed for the use by the students.

Laboratory is utilized for conducting practical’s in the subjects such as Computer Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Computer Laboratory I & II, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Security, Introduction to Mobile App Development, E-Commerce, Introduction to Microcontrollers, Microprocessors and its Applications etc.

Hardware and Networking Laboratory

The main objective of the Hardware and Networking laboratory is to provide the students with the knowledge of computer hardware and networking.

Laboratory is equipped with UPS Trainer, Logic Analyzer, SMPS Trainer, Mother Board Trainer, Microcontroller Programming kit, Digital multimeter, Logic Probe and Pulsar and Desktop Computers.

Laboratory is utilized for conducting practical’s in the subjects such as Computer Hardware, Network Management, Embedded System Design, Data Communication & Computer Network.

NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVER ROOM

The Department has a dedicated server room, containing 2 Servers. This has a gigabit network with each machine connected individually to our network switches with either 100Mbit or 1Gbit network cards. All computers have access to the internet via GBBN and Broadband connectivity.
